Bristol Old Vic's home is a gorgeous Georgian auditorium built in 1766 and located in Bristol's old city quarter. Bristol Old Vic is enjoying a renaissance in its fortunes. It produces award-winning and critically acclaimed classics, new works, a range of shows for families, as well as experimental work in the Studio, Basement and Paintshop performance spaces.

Newly appointed Artistic Director Tom Morris (artistic associate at the National Theatre and co-director of War Horse) and Executive Director Emma Stenning (former Executive Director of Battersea Arts Centre) began in September 2009 and have now began their mission to make Bristol Old Vic a centre of theatrical perfection in Bristol. Work began in January 2009 with a programme of work in King Street and beyond designed to re-activate Bristol Old Vic, to engage with our city region's talent and to reinforce creative relationships. With our new executive team in place, programming was developed to explore our new vision and test our re-development plans.

Bristol Old Vic's critically acclaimed productions have included Juliet and her Romeo directed by Tom Morris and Far Away directed by Simon Godwin (Associate Director at Bristol Old Vic).
“With Tom Morris at hand there's nothing to stop Bristol turning into a powerhouse of British theatre." The Guardian, September 2009
