Starting from the Visitor Centre at Rother Valley Country Park, follow the track around the water sports lake before heading down the old railway to Renishaw and then Staveley (approx 5 miles).
For a longer trip you can continue to Chesterfield. You have the choice of heading along the popular Chesterfield Canal towpath via Tapton Lock Visitor Centre to Chesterfield (a further 5.5 miles) or continuing along the rail line to Pools Brook Country Park and on to Inkersall Green from where quiet roads and off-road tracks bring you to Chesterfield station. Why not combine these and do the full loop to Chesterfield and back to Staveley before you return to Rother Valley.
Cycle hire is available from the water sports centre at Rother Valley Country Park.
