Set amidst stunning Lake District scenery, the charming Brackenrigg Inn can be counted amongst the last remaining traditional free houses in Ullswater. With an unrivalled setting that boasts spectacular views of elegant Ullswater this cosy Lake District retreat retains all the values of a traditional coaching Inn. Its old worldly charm and individual character is emphasised in each of its 17 bedrooms, all of which are en suite. A comprehensive menu offers an array of locally sourced, seasonal dishes cooked fresh on the premises by a resident team of chefs under the guidance of chef patron, Shaun Dixon. Six real Cumbrian ales which regularly include Tirrel, Dent, Coniston, Corby and their own Brackenrigg draft, 12 well-chosen wines, which can be served by the glass, and a warming open-place fire all contribute to the Brackenrigg Inn’s hostelry image and make it one of the Lake District’s best kept secrets.
