The Custom House, located on the historic quayside, was constructed in 1680-80, and is the earliest surviving brick building in Exeter. Used by HM Customs and Excise until 1989, the building has an impressive sweeping staircase and spectacular ornamental plaster ceilings. Visits are only available on an Exeter Red Coat guided tour.
